I was drawn to my work as a counselor through my own journey with a powerful therapist/mentor, and through my work as an instructor, for the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School. While on extended backcountry expeditions, with groups facing challenge and adversity, I discovered my capacity to assist others in meeting, and moving through, fear, overwhelm, and self-doubt.

In 2003, I earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in depth psychology, from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Over the last twenty years, my career has evolved to include experience in community mental health, inpatient, and private practice settings. I have extensive experience working with trauma and use a somatic form of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

Since 2012, I have been training with Animas Valley Institute in a soul-centric, nature-based, model of wholing and self-healing. This approach is a blend of my rootedness in the natural world and my desire to assist others in creating lives
of fulfillment and authenticity.
